The Alir Villa

The property comprises a main house and two additional guest houses, a relaxation pavilion and a large swimming pool, set in 2800 square meters of beautiful gardens. The graceful architecture of the main two-storey house blends tropical architecture with contemporary design, traditional Indonesian materials, a shingle roof, and recycled teak and bengkirai hardwood floors. The pool house and guest bungalow are traditional Javanese wooden houses that have been lovingly restored and rebuilt.

Bedrooms
Two air-conditioned bedrooms are positioned on the ground floor of the Main House. Mirror versions of each other, each is accessed by antique doors and each features a warm wooden floor and latticed sliding doors that are reminiscent of the Shoji screens of traditional Japanese architecture; when opened the pool deck and garden appears and the interior becomes one with nature. Each bedroom is furnished with a custom made king size bed and a desk, and each has a walk in wardrobe with cupboards, hanging space and a large mirror. Each en-suite bathroom features a tiled floor, and open air area surrounded by a wall with an indoor-outdoor rain shower, unpolished marble walls, a glass washbasin, a toilet, and a large terrazzo bathtub for soaking up those romantic relaxing interludes.

The pool house rests in an elevated position within the garden. It is accessed by five steps, and characterized by antique teakwood walls and a shingle roof. This enchanting little house is flanked by a raised timber deck, complete with an outdoor bar, a quality sound system, a barbeque area and an outdoor dining table and chairs. Gorgeous antique doors open to reveal the Third Bedroom – a spacious air-conditioned bedroom with an antique teakwood floor, on which rests a custom made king size teak bed, innovative bedside lamps, a large dressing table and a wardrobe under the high, timber-lined roof. Local handwoven ‘ikat bed’ linens complete the picture of rustic charm. The semi open air en-suite bathroom features glass shelving, a glass washbasin, rain shower and toilet.

A two storey building at the far end of the garden houses two further air-conditioned bedrooms. The downstairs Fourth lagoon bedroom with en-suite overlooks the waterfall and enjoys the tranquility of the sound of running water. Warm hardwood Merbau floors and beautiful tropical flower paintings help complete the feeling of Zen. Upstairs is a fully restored teak bungalow accessed by an external flight of stone steps. With a polished concrete floor, pitched roof and white washed timber walls, this delightful bedroom has the feel of a wooden chalet. It is attractively furnished with a king size bed, bedside lamps, table, chair, and a wardrobe. Sliding doors lead on to an ironwood deck complete with a hammock and table for two.

Raised high above the garden, the Fifth bedroom and deck affords stunning views all over the estate and the surrounding rice fields, and the breezy deck is a particularly delightful place to relax. The en-suite bathroom has a rain shower, a washbasin on a carved washstand, and a toilet. It features unpolished marble brick walls, and skylights in the roof, which let in plenty of natural light.

Villa Alir Living & Dining Area
The open sided living area is located on the ground floor of the main house. Cooled by natural breezes and pendulous ceiling fans, it lends itself to be an ideal entertainment environment, incorporating a modern open plan kitchen and boasting wonderful views of the terraced gardens. This large airy space is furnished with a solid dining table for up to 10 people, created from a single piece of wood and ideal for dinner parties.

There is also a comfortable sofa and two chairs, a coffee table, a funky lantern, and local artifacts and artwork. A staircase leads up to a splendid mezzanine with a recycled teakwood floor and a balcony walkway lined with four statuesque urns. A guest washroom, with toilet and washbasin, is located on ground level to one side of the living area.

TV Room
The air-conditioned TV room is located at the top of the stairs, to one side of the mezzanine and accessed by a set of double doors. The room, complete with its soaring roof, is furnished with comfortable cushioned sofas and ottomans, a coffee table and a desk in one corner. It features built-in glass shelving and a floor created from recycled antique timber. This state-of-the-art home theatre supported by a flatscreen TV, DVD player, hi-tech surround sound and music system in addition to satellite TV channels.

At the far end of the mezzanine, overlooking the Zen bamboo garden is a semi open-air area with a teakwood Bar, together with heavy solid wood bar stools, corner seating and a Pool Table. To one side is a guest washroom with toilet and washbasin.

The well equipped open plan kitchen features glass fronted wall units and a black marble serving counter. It is here that the staff will prepare and serve delicious meals.

Villa Alir Ground
The enticing 18-metre swimming pool is positioned in front of the main house and is ideal for swimming laps. It also incorporates a circular champagne plug pool, adding to the delight of tropical living. For those who enjoy lazing beside the pool, the Batu Jogja or Lime Stone pool deck is furnished with traditional sun beds, in addition to two romantic half moon canopied day beds that offer a shaded option.

The expansive terraced garden is characterized by flat terraced lawns, punctuated by beautiful mature trees. In the far corner is a lagoon ablaze with purple flowering water hyacinths and a waterfall that delivers the tranquility of a tropical oasis. Set back from the swimming pool is a relaxation pavilion with floor cushions, a low table and a beaded lamp.

Villa Mona Living & Dining Area

The massive living and dining area (400 m2) is built around a pond, planted with tropical plants and is semi-opened in order to benefit from the cool breeze. The construction features natural stones from Bali, black terrazzo and custom made teak wood furniture with large sofa in order to ensure plenty of relaxing areas. A modern and professional kitchen is settled in one corner and guests can either prepare their own meals or ask our staff to do the cooking. The villa does not have a cook but an experienced cook can also be called in order to prepare gourmet diner (with additional cost).

Villa Mona is equipped with a high bandwith internet connection and WiFi that allows web surfing, email handling, and streaming music listening.

The 29″ flat screen is connected to a satellite TV network. All the major international channels are available for children and adults. Some water-proof Bose speakers are installed to provide this famous and amazing sound system over the terrace and the living space. Low volume will provide a cozy atmosphere for a dinner, and higher volume will allow the organization of parties around the swimming pool.

Villa Mona Ground
All the project has been designed to provide to each guest this particular pleasure to live by a swimming pool. Made in black stones to keep the water temperature at its high level (between 22′C and 28′C), its dimensions are 15m x 5m. It is graphical design.

Villa Latitude

The 5-bedroom, private hideaway, offers a 6 x 36 meter pool with comfortable sunbeds, a high ceiling living room with a fully equipped kitchen, 4 Jacuzzi’s, a TV and games room underneath the pool and an open air bar area for relaxation.

Guests staying at Villa Latitude have free access to the Karang Kembar Beach Club which is right on the beach and only a few steps away from the sea. The Club has a well kept lush garden, 2 x 5 meter pool, 2 bale’s with sun lounges, bathroom/changing room and BBQ area.

Each of Latitude’s five bedrooms can comfortably accommodate a maximum of two guests per room. The villa’s nightly tariff represents the cost per night for a party of no more than ten guests.

Location

Latitude is located on the Karang Kembar Estate on the southernmost tip of Bali in a region known as the Bukit Peninsula – a limestone tableland boasting some of Bali’s most glamorous villas, private estates and internationally-branded boutique hotels.

From the villa’s lofty lookout, if the sea is calm, guests can observe the coral reef and the seaweed farms beneath the surface. They may even spot turtles, dugongs, manta rays and migrating pilot whales, as well as the long tailed grey macaque monkeys that play in the neighbouring areas where the landscape is dotted with cactus, kapok trees and gorgeous scarlet flamboyants.

A tropical, equatorial climate means year-round balmy temperatures, this region is much drier than the rest of the island, yet cooler due to the offshore trade winds. The barrelling surf breaks here are among the best in the world, and guests at Latitude can enjoy the amenities of the Karang Kembar Beach Club.

A private helipad offers the option of quick transfers to and from the International Airport, 18 kilometres away. There are two world-class golf courses on the Bukit, and for adventurous guests there is a paintball facility as well as a paragliding centre on the cliff, 80 metres above the nearby Timbis Beach. The remainder of the island offers a rich mosaic of cultures, tastes, sights and sounds, shopping facilities and restaurants together with a wide array of outdoor activities.

Master Suite
The multi-level master suite consists of an air-conditioned bedroom furnished with a king-size bed and equipped with a 32″ flat screen satellite-channel TV and DVD player.

In front of the bedroom is an elevated timber deck which offers a breathtaking view of the ocean. The ensuite bathroom presents an indoor area with an overhead monsoon shower and a handheld shower and twin marble washbasins on a black polished granite vanity unit. The outdoor bathing area features a timber deck and a sunken Jacuzzi tub.

There is also a private garden area with a hidden sunbathing deck.

Guest Room
Three fully air-conditioned guest rooms rest to one side of the main pavilion, at the far end of the pool. Each identical bedroom is furnished with a king bed (one of which converts to twins), and equipped with a TV and DVD player, and each features glass walls and doors that open to a stone pool deck and the stunning view of the ocean.

Each bathroom slides open to a circular open-air bathing area with a hot Jacuzzi tub and a broad, open chimney that extends to the upper lawn.

Guest House
A private one-bedroom guesthouse is positioned on the top level near the wedding lawn, and accessed via steps over an ornamental pond. The air-conditioned bedroom is furnished with a king bed that converts to twins.

There is a small dressing area and an indoor bathroom with twin marble washbasins and a toilet and shower in separate cubicles. At the front of the guest house is a timber deck and more fabulous views.

Latitude is supported by a team of highly trained, friendly staff who will ensure that guests experience a truly enjoyable stay in Bali. The team is headed by a villa manager who will oversee and coordinate the staff and property, and is available to assist guests during their stay. Villa Ombak Putih

Villa Ombak Putih is located in the seaside village of Cemagi in south-west Bali, a five-minute stroll from the beach and the remarkable sea temple of Pura Gede Luhur Batungaus, this fully staffed, serene villa is encircled by rice fields and wrapped in the arms of traditional Balinese life.

Perhaps the best way to explore this beautiful rural area of Bali is by foot or bicycle (bicycle hire can be arranged); the lanes around Villa Ombak Putih are flat and quiet as long as you steer clear of the main road. Five minutes’ walk up the black-sand beach is the small sea temple of Pura Gede Luhur Batungaus; it sits on a rocky outcrop and is reminiscent of a miniature Tanah Lot, Bali’s most famous sea temple located two or three kilometres further up the coast (9km by road). Heading inland, before you reach the main road, is a village temple and traditional market, where there always seems to be a lot of colourful activity.

About Villa Ombak Putih
Named after – the ‘white-capped waves’ – views of which can be relished from its upper floor rooms and terraces – five-bedrooms Villa Ombak Putih breathes an ocean-inspired theme in every element of its design. This majestic and contemporary-styled property presents crisp white exteriors and cool cream marble floors, while natural Palimanan stone is the material of the villa’s striking bas-relief murals and impressive Balinese statues, which flank the grand entranceway and border the ponds.

This pale white stone features abundantly throughout the villa and defines the garden with plump, perfectly placed pebbles and warm textured paving. Even the flowers in the 3300-square-metre garden reflect the foamy surf: all are white, from the sweet-scented snowy blossoms on the many frangipani trees to the softly flowering jasmine that borders the lawns.

In keeping with the villa’s seaside location, 150 metres from the rugged Cemagi beach, white furnishings are characterized by cheerful cushion fabrics, splashes of blue and turquoise in the ocean-inspired photographic artwork, a dark blue wall, a rustic blue door and tastefully displayed time-worn aquamarine artefacts.

This gorgeous villa, which was completed in 2011, presents two enormous master bedrooms with sexy, semi-open-air bathrooms, three stand-alone guest suites, a 30-metre swimming pool and a delightful choice of indoor and outdoor living areas and dining spaces. Guests enter Villa Ombak Putih a stepping-stone avenue over a large, clear-water pond where two huge overflowing urns provide the soothing sounds of falling water. Floor-to-ceiling sliding glass doors run the length of the villa, removing all possibility of secrets; the state-of-the-art living areas, gardens, and swimming pool simply rush in to say hello. Upstairs, the two super-chic master bedrooms are mirror images of each other; each with a sea-view balcony. Outside, the garden is dominated by a 30-metre infinity pool flanked by an alfresco dining space and a sunken pool bar/lounge, above which a roof-top terrace provides the ideal spot for relaxed sundowners. Continuing down through the gardens, three stand-alone bedroom suites are beautifully integrated into the greens and whites of the landscape and are aligned in such a way as to provide guests with a sense of autonomy and privacy.

Bedrooms
Master bedrooms 1 & 2 are located upstairs in the main building and are both as sleek and sexy as each other. Lined with huge blow up images from the owner’s travels around Indonesia, each bedroom has white linens, hardwood floors, a high-pitched ceiling and wide views of the ocean from not only the king-size bed and the stone-paved balcony, but from the bathtub and shower as well. The bathrooms carry a nautical theme of seahorse- and starfish-shaped fittings to complement the ever-present sight of the ocean. To the rear of each bedroom, a spacious dressing areas faces away from the sea and yields to rice fields and a volcanic horizon.

In the antechamber between the master bedrooms is a large sitting area with two white painted daybeds and a wooden table under a translucent white skylight. Glass doors open out to a furnished stone terrace with ocean and garden views.

Guest bedroom 1 is situated in the gardens, just below the pool. This room is bathed in natural sunlight courtesy of two sets of sliding glass doors, one of which leads out to a stone terrace overlooking a manicured lawn and two very inviting hammocks. A king-size bed rests on a raised plinth beneath a stone frieze depicting tropical palm fronds and frangipani flowers, while two white leather easy chairs just beg to be sat upon and a large white wardrobe provides plenty of storage. A semi-open outdoor bathroom with monsoon shower and a bathtub invites guests to experience bathing under the sun and stars.

Guest bedroom 2 sits next to a garden of wild grasses and flowers, a little further along the garden pathway. Sliding doors open onto a wooden deck, bringing the outdoors in. This room is furnished with a white-painted king-size bed and two dark wooden wardrobes. A large wooden lamp and an Indonesian totem sit alongside a zebra striped leather chair, while a huge image depicting a school of tropical fish reminds guests which country they are in. The bathroom features a sunken open-air tub with hand-held shower for more outdoor glory.

Guest bedroom 3 lies at the very bottom of the garden, amidst a grove of juvenile palm trees. Two inviting lawn chairs rest on the terrace taking in this miniature forest setting while, inside, the room is dominated by a blonde-wood king-size bed, flanked by wicker lamps and heralded by a bird carving. Two similar coloured wardrobes provide storage, while more tantalizing images of Indonesian island-life adorn the walls. The open-air bathroom is noteworthy for its water wall and cleverly designed, monsoon shower that looks as though it could be a time portal to another dimension.

In the main house, Ombak Putih’s air-conditioned white and blue themed living room is furnished with two comfy sofas and chairs and an antique coffee table all set before a 46-inch TV with satellite channels and a Blu-Ray disc player. Antique wooden artifacts and a Balinese gong adorn the room and sliding glass lead out from here to the garden. Through a pair of blue-painted traditional Balinese doors is a glass-shelved cupboard and a thoughtfully positioned guest washroom.

Separated from the living area by the grand central foyer, the dining room and kitchen are dominated by a very long and very beautiful suar wood table with seating for ten lit by three hanging lanterns with huge woven bamboo shades. A montage of aqua-blue images embellish the walls alongside tribal shields from Papua. Floor-to-ceiling glass doors at one end of the dining area provide garden views and lead out to the pool and terrace.

The villa has an enviable, air conditioned feature kitchen that’s almost over-equipped with serious brand-name appliances. Characterized by a wall of rough-cut marble mosaic and polished concrete work surfaces, the kitchen includes a massive central island lit by three hanging lanterns and accompanied by four wooden bar stools.

The sunken pool lounge is sure to see the lion’s share of daytime activity given its very social poolside situation among the gardens. Open on three sides, it features a kitchen area and guest washroom, a wooden bar, antique Indonesian daybeds that serve as tables, bar stools, and wide, built-in sofas with enough seating room for a small army. Above, on the rooftop terrace, daybeds beckon for sunbathing and sunset cocktails.

The alfresco dining area sits to the right of the pool between the sunken lounge and a patio area lined with river stones and furnished with two all-weather couches. A ten-seater dining table provides a lovely spot to enjoy dinner after the heat of the day has subsided.

The villa’s mature garden stretches for what feels like forever, changing its characteristics as it meanders past the pool and the guest bedrooms towards the property’s boundary. Poolside, sun loungers and two double daybeds are positioned next to mature frangipanis, palms and lilies that pepper the lawns. At the far end of the 30-metre pool the water overflows down a three meters cascade to a smaller pool fronted by two Ganesha (elephant god) statues. Beyond, a ‘wild’ garden of ornamental grasses and white flowering shrubs eventually gives way to a small ‘enchanted forest’ of palm trees and silence.
